AN IMPORTANT 19th c AUSTRIAN SILVER TRAY BY JOSEPH CARL KLINKOSCH, IMPERIAL SILVERSMITH TO EMPORER FRANS JOSEPH, PROVENANCE OF SILVER PLATTER – AUSTRIAN/ HUNGARIAN SILVER, Silver platter - 1236 grams, (fish dish) 60cms x 24cms given as part of a silver collection as a wedding present in 1868 to Marie Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau, on her wedding in Vienna to Oliver de Resseguier, Marquis de Miramont. The silver collection with platter then gifted by Marie Kinsky Resseguier de Miramont to her daughter Countess Anna Resseguier de Miramont when she married Colonel Otto Waldschutz in Vienna on 1906. Anna Resseguier brought the silver collection with her to Rhodesia when she emigrated I 937. The silver collection was then passed on to their eldest son Franz Wolfgang de Paulo Otto Waldschutz (changed name to Forrester during WW11) when he married Margaret Catherine Hartney in 1938 in Salisbury, Rhodesia (today Harare, Zimbabwe). The silver was further divided between the three sons of Franz and Margaret on their respective wedding days with the silver platter given to Franz Robert Waldschutz Forrester, the youngest son of Franz and Margaret, when he married Rosemary Dighton in Salisbury, Rhodesia in 1968.
